Hi, my name is James Layton, and I’m a personal training and online coach who specialises in helping clients achieve their fat loss, muscle growth or performance goals.
I help them overcome their lack of knowledge, and help them to train and eat appropriately to achieve their goals, while constantly educating and motivating them.

I have been working as a Personal Trainer since October 2011, working initially with clients one-to-one.
In early 2013 I set up an online consultancy business; here I work with clients online to help them achieve their goals.
I have been very fortunate to come into contact with a great team of people. Among such people are Joseph Agu who currently works for the English Institute of Sport (EIS).
Joseph works with British Athletics (UK Athletics) and will most likely be heading to the next Olympics in Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) as a performance nutritionist.
Joseph is based in Loughborough and is about to undertake his PhD in “nutrition interventions for strength and power athletes”.
He has probably been the biggest influence on my career to date, I not only consider him a mentor but also a good friend, who I speak to regularly.
Additionally, nutrition consultants Matt Jones MSc (who has worked with Liverpool FC, Wrexham AFC and Crusaders RL) and Amrish Vasdev MSc (who is currently working for Lucozade and Notts County FC) have also played a part in furthering my knowledge.
These professionals have been a great support to my learning, introducing me to the work of Alan Aragon and Lyle McDonald and helping me to an understanding of the scientific literature through appropriate research Journals.
I continue to read regularly around subjects such as, hypertrophy (muscle growth), supplementation, fat loss, and anything relevant to optimising body composition (muscle growth and fat loss) and performance.
Added to this, within the last 3 years I have attended the following seminars, hosted by some of the leading experts in both training and nutrition:

- Brad Schoenfeld Hypertrophy UK Seminar (January 2014)
- Eric Helms Body Building Prep Seminar (April 2014)
As well as my online coaching and personal training, I have recently launched a muscle building Ebook which was endorsed by Eric Helms, a 3D Muscle Journey Coach and a well-known successful professional natural bodybuilder. This Ebook has now been converted into a full blown course.
